The gasoline that Doc and Marty had access to in 19 was apparently better than an empty tank, for the purposes of preserving the gas tank. If/when you park your car for the winter, it's advised not that you empty your gas tank, it's supposedly a better idea to give it a full tank of the more-expensive ethanol-free gasoline. ethanol wasn't really added to gas until 1988, when the government realized that putting ethanol in gasoline was better for the environment than running straight gasoline. Something about leaving gasoline in a tank for decades causing corrosion or rust.Ĭlick to shrink. The ethanol in gasoline sucks water out of the air and absorbs it, which normally isn't a problem because the gas gets burned in the engine and then water vapor blows out the tail pipe, but when the ethanol "goes bad" and breaks down (which it does in a matter of months), it releases all of the water that it has soaked up, and now you've got water in your gas tank, which can clog your fuel filter, or varnish and ruin your fuel injectors, or (as you mentioned) cause your gas tank to corrode and rust out.īut. That theory doesnt hold ground because as anyone who collects cars and stores them for long periods of time will tell you the first thing you do to a car is to syphon out fuel out of the tanks, the movie's director or producer (cant remember which) confirmed this in the movie's commentary track so the Delorean hidden in the mine did not have fuel for 1885 Doc to ride in. After all he said so at the end of the movie when Marty asks him "are you going back to the future?" and he says "No, we've already been there". He then traveled far into the future to perfect his train and then came back to 1985 one last time to visit Marty and thats that. I always thought it clearly took the Doc years to reverse engineer the hoverboard enough that he had time to marry Clara and have two kids with her in the time it took him to work on it. Traveling forward in time (provided he could fix the fuel issue which in the late 19th century proves impossible) is also moot because leaving 1955 Marty stranded without a Delorean even if he came back but we'd be getting into paralel universes or 1955As which we would never dug ourself out of. Plus he needed to leave the Delorean as is or he could cause a paradox (which in the BTTF universe cause galaxy wide explosions so he's smart enough to know how to avoid one) where Marty couldnt have come back to save him from Bufford if anything would happen to the time machine if he tried to uncover it again. Understandably, the Food Research Club is in an uproar over this development, with president Chisato Sumiyoshi vowing to preserve it. Satsuki Shinonome, a major candidate and the head of the department of financial affairs, campaigns on a platform that includes disbanding meritless clubs such as the Food Research Club and redirecting their budgets to proper ones. However, this peaceful and wasteful lifestyle is under threat as the upcoming student election draws near. Yuuki Oojima is a member of his high school's Food Research Club, whose main activity is eating snacks bought with funds allocated to them by the school. Themes: fanservice, harem, school, school life, student council The story of Battlefield IV takes place in the year 2020, six years after the previous installment. A technical playtest for the game will be launching in July, although details from that will be under an NDA, so unless you play it or someone breaks that agreement, you're probably not going to hear about it. Battlefield 4 contains both a solid single-player campaign and a great multiplayer with tons of modes like Conquest or Team Deathmatch, and up to 64 players able to participate in the same game session. In Titanfall 2's case, the boost was attributed to the launch of the ninth season of Apex Legends, which referenced Titanfall and its story directly.īattlefield fans may be hopping back into Battlefield 4 until beta tests launch for Battlefield 2042. This past April, Titanfall 2 saw a sizable increase in its player base, beating its concurrent player count from the summer of 2020, when it originally arrived on Steam. This marks the second time this year that an EA-owned title exploded in popularity years after its initial release. The version of the game that was given away excluded its five DLC expansions. From June 2 to June 20, Amazon Prime members could claim a free copy of the game for Origin. Part of Battlefield 4's resurgence could also be chalked up to a recent Prime Gaming deal. Besides the upcoming game's modern setting, its reveal trailer even included a jet stunt from Battlefield 3, exciting older fans of the franchise. As far as player counts are concerned, Battlefield 1 still has a healthy playerbase across most regions, at least for PC. It should be no surprise that Battlefield 4 has seen a resurgence, considering how much of that game has been channeled in Battlefield 2042. "We'll continue monitoring queue times and will make further adjustments as necessary," continued the community manager. While only the US West region needed extra servers to accommodate more players, it seems that EA has plans in case those issues continue to grow. Description PlayStation Store Description (from Ad Blurbs)RIDGE RACER™ Unbounded gears up to carve its own destructive path on a spectacular collision course! RIDGE RACER is on its way back into the eager hands of gamers, adding an unexpected dimension to the series with an original blast of ferocious racing adrenaline. Just line yourself up and use your power meter for a sustained speed boost to crash through these targets. It might point out a tanker truck, just begging to be blown sky high, or a wall that you can crash through to take a short cut. Once you’ve filled your power meter – by drifting, drafting and catching air, the game starts highlighting targets on the course. Shatter Bay is the setting, an area that you. Ridge Racer 7 Machine PackĪnd that’s just the beginning. They’ve shown a penchant for destruction and chaos in their racers, which has most definitely seeped into the Ridge Racer series, with Unbounded. Drifting sideways through a series of low walls as you cut a corner tight is ridiculously satisfying, with the brickwork practically exploding on impact, accompanied by chunky impactful sound effects. Low walls, concrete support beams, statues in the town square and kiosks can all be smashed straight through. The general rule of thumb? If it’s smaller than your vehicle, chances are you can drive through it. The level of destructibility in Unbounded is hugely impressive, and definitely a step up from anything other racers have done. Domination races are about more than just finishing in the top three, they’re also about taking down – or ‘fragging’ – other racers, doing collateral damage to the world around you, triggering explosive events and earning awards. Of all the race types on offer, Domination exemplifies this the most and is by far the highlight. Unbounded is at its best when the racing is combative, the action rough and tumble. About the only thing you can depend on is a suitably ravey soundtrack, with a number of old Ridge Racer tracks, as well as the now obligatory dubstep. You can also forget about gleaming cities, winding mountain paths and beachside runs under an azure sky. As such, you can forget about ludicrously over-the-top powerslide mechanics. This game has about as much in common with Ridge Racer as Forza 4, or Hot Pursuit, or any other racer you’d care to name. Ridge Racer Unbounded is Ridge Racer in name only. Let’s get it out of the way at the top of the show. Ridge Racer 1 Machine and the Hearse Pack There’s a handful of game types you can play, from your typical race to the finish where drifting fills up your boost meter (Shindo racing), to causing as much damage to the city as you pass through it, including your opponents (Domination race). You can actually drift off into wall and crash your car, or bump into your opponents in an attempt to take them out. This game differs from the rest of the series.
Diverse culture and unique language remain fixtures in the sounds emerging from the West Coast, while veterans like Too $hort and E-40 make cameos on hits like Chris Brown’s “Loyal,” and Big Sean’s “I Don’t F–k With You.” While other West Coast sub-genres like “gangsta” rap emerged in the late ’80s thanks to the likes of N.W.A, Snoop Dogg, and 2Pac, it was the Bay that first hosted the diverse cast of characters that made rap the melting pot it is today. Internet favorites like Lil B, G-Eazy, and Iamsu! continue to wave the Bay Area flag today. When It’s Dark Out These lines originate from Welsh writer, Dylan Thomas’s famous villanelle, Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night. Many of the Bay Area’s rappers, from MC Hammer to the Wild Boyz, started out as dancers. Live instruments on slow rolling funk beats became the signature sound for many Bay Area rappers. Particular dance styles now embedded in hip-hop were initially unique to the Bay Area, like boogalooing, rutting and strutting (collectively known as BRS). Some of the Bay Area’s best hip-hop producers came out of this ’70s funk scene, like Khayree, Ant Banks, Studio Tone, Al Eaton, Jay King, and Foster McElroy. New York hip-hoppers were feverishly searching for breakbeats, while their counterparts in the Bay Area were trying to find the perfect funk groove. As Too $hort once explained, music on the West Coast is defined by the bass, whereas the East Coast centered on the drum. In the 1970s, the Bay had a pulsating funk movement. Rappers from here weren’t afraid to get raunchy either, as heard on Too $hort’s explicit “Freaky Tales.” Known for its infectious slang and unique delivery (see E-40’s “Tell Me When To Go,” Keak da Sneak’s “Super Hyphy,” and Andre Nickatina’s “Ayo For Yayo,” featuring San Quinn), the Bay Area rap scene brought its own swagger to hip-hop culture, and painted real-life pictures of “the ghetto” on wax. From the Black Panthers’ survival programs, with free breakfast and health clinics to early television programming like The Jay Payton Show and dedicated channel Soul Beat to thriving independent punk, rock, and comedy scenes, the Bay has prided itself on being a place where, as Shock G from Digital Underground pointed out, you can “make a dollar out of 15 cents.” Artists like Too $hort – the godfather of Oakland rap – became known by selling tapes out of car trunks, and performing on transit buses. Over the past several decades, artists from San Francisco, Richmond, Vallejo, and Oakland – like MC Hammer, The Jacka, Digital Underground, E-40, Too $hort and Souls of Mischief – released records that have sold millions of copies, and resonated internationally.ĭIY is in the DNA of the Bay Area. The Bay Area’s hip-hop scene traces its roots back to the early ‘70s. |
